Summer is in full effect here in Portland.

Since we it got hot here late in the game, I figured it’s not too late to still wear my summer dresses. I’ve been in the mood for a good little ruffled number and I finally found a summer dress that fits well and would be the go to outfit for me. Any time I wear this dress, I’ve always gotten compliments. I’m not into carrying big handbags lately, but the straw bags are getting to me. I gotta say, I”m starting to like the idea of carrying straw or basket bags like Jane Birkin did.

For those who don’t know, Jane Birkin, the super iconic British beauty is the main reason why the good old “basket” bags are everywhere. She popularized them back in the 70’s and she made it look super good and chic! She couldn’t find a purse that fit all of her things so she carried that basket wherever she went.  I found some similar dresses and basket bags that are on trend but wouldn’t break the bank.
