Cirque Du Soleil’s Crystal

 In Lifestyle

It’s been a while since I’ve seen a Cirque Du Soleil’s performance. I remember seeing my very first show in Las Vegas when Crea was only six. We saw the Beatles Love show and it was amazing! Last year, when we went and visited my Mom back in Sin City, we saw Kah. This is my first time seeing Cirque in Portland.

This was exciting for me to see because this is the first time that they are trying to incorporate ice skating into the scene. The show is about Crystal, a young girl  who ventures out who falls into her imagination. I was very surprised by this show! It is definitely not your typical Cirque du Soleil we’ve seen before! It’s modern, the songs were great (they had Sia, U2, and Queen Bey songs on some parts) mixed with the traditional riveting music we all know Cirque does.

I didn’t know what to expect coming into the show but I was also blown away by the stage. The choreography was also different. The actors actually danced. Then there were the costumes. I’m gonna just take time to talk about the costumes. There was a scene where she was in a playground and I thought the bright costumes that looked very whimsical were fantastic. From the wigs, to the skates, and even the little details. The costume designer had it down! Also, I’m not going to ruin the whole show but just look out for the Ballroom scene, that’s the money part (also some bey song).

The pictures you saw doesn’t do any of if justice. When you get a chance, the show is still running until April 8th. If you’re a big fan of the Cirque du Soleil, this one is definitely for the books!
