Going Monochromatic

 In Fashion

I guess it’s still safe to say Happy New Year right? I know it’s been a while since I’ve written on here but I’m now just getting back in the swing of things. With the Holidays behind me, I’m getting the energy back into putting more work on my blog. After all, this is my hobby turned fashion to begin with.

Going through all of my social media platforms, I’ve been really into the whole monochromatic look. The same color palette but I chose to really go neutral. Brownish, mauve. I like it! I’m actually pretty proud of myself to have put together an outfit like this.

When going monochrome and after choosing the color, you want to start to play with patterns and textures. You don’t just want to dress one color–that’s too one dimensional. You want to have some juxtaposition between the color you chose so that the outfit doesn’t come out so boring and it doesn’t pop. That’s why I paired it with a pleated skirt in the same family color and wore my faux snakeskin booties to make the outfit pop and stand out. I also was feeling like popping another color like the pink glasses completed the look and tied it together.

Skirt: Shein
Turtleneck Sweater: Boohoo
Boots: Ecco

What do you think about the look? Let me know in the comments below… Until the next one,

MARCH
