Lloyd Local – A One Stop Shop at Lloyd Center Mall

As a teenager growing up in Manila, a busy city in the Philippines, I was always fascinated with our Malls. They were huge. And I’m not exaggerating. But I never felt at home. There was no sense of community and it was so big that often times I always felt lost. Literally. Years later, after college and a baby, I was ready to get back to be a working mom again but the Graphic Design industry was hard so I took a job as a retail manager for a clothing store at Lloyd Center Mall. The Lloyd and I go way back.

I love shopping there because I know it well. I pretty much grew up going to that mall and now that I have my own family, this is where we go to shop! I love that the Ice Skating rink got a whole new makeover and during the holidays, the mall just lights up and the decor is just amazing! They also have renovated almost half the mall. This year, they are launching a whole new initiative called Lloyd Local. This is something I absolutely love because they are bringing more than 25 local shops to do a pop up in the mall for the Holidays! When I went, I discovered a lot of brands I never knew existed in Portland.

This feels more like a community rather than a mall to me. It’s awesome to know that the present you’re about to give your family and friends is made with love and most especially it’s from your local city. Super excited to have local shops and artisans plus your favorite brands all in one roof. I mean let’s be real, you can literally find presents for everyone on your list at Lloyd Mall. Now, if you will excuse me, I have more shopping and maybe a little bit of ice skating to do….
