Turbans worked really well for me when I was a little girl because I hated wearing plastic headbands that hurt the side of my ear, can someone second me on that?

Turbans like this one from France Luxe is a really good alternative if you’re not the headband wearing type.  It’s funny how they were used back in the 17th century to keep women’s hair in check and away from their faces. The infamous Girl with the Pearl Earring painting by Jan Vermeer is what introduced the turban to spotlight. During the 19th century less people were wearing them but was brought back by the “classy and well traveled” women of the 30’s. The turban trend continued well into the 60’s and the 70’s where actresses like Elizabeth Taylor and Barbara Streisand rocked them bejeweled and wearing their hair down. Now, people wear them more like a hat and more of a fashion statement if you ask me, so yes, I’m wearing a turban and I’m loving it!!!
