Wonder Wall Wednesday: Black Summer Dress and a Fall Hat

I’ve been trying to be a little more versatile with my outfits this fall.

I normally don’t like to wear dresses during the fall because I always think that I’ll be freezing but I’ve never really put two and two together that you can totally still wear dresses (wether they are from the summertime) and just layer them up for fall.  I’m also a big fan of the socks over the tights and boots. There’s something about that look that made this outfit very girly and that’s not what I normally go for.

I got this dress for a bargain during mid October and I was thinking it would suck if I wouldn’t be able to wear this for fall since it was made for summertime. I paired the dress with this cute little hat I found at Ross (who else is a bargain hunter?) and as you already know, the brown and black combo is my jam! What do you think of the outfit?
